Home Patrol 2 for Ames

Is Home Patrol 2 a good scanner for Ames and Story County? Thank you?

Story County is on the SARA system and uses a simulcast system for their towers, so simulcast distortion is possible. Ames Police is encrypted, Ames Fire and Story County Law/Fire is not. It is not possible to receive encrypted talkgroup with any scanner.

I live in Huxley and have not had much luck with my 996p2 due to simulcast distortion but my SDS200 works great.

Second the good reviews for the SDS200. I've had mine for about a month and I am happy with it so far. I live in Greene County.
