Your question has me confused. Wouldn't you only need to enter any frequency if it is not one already in the HP-1 DB? If it is not already in the HP-1 DB (or the RR DB), how would you know it is P25 (if you only know the frequency)? Is it a Control Channel? An alternate CC? A single frequency that many Talk Groups might use at various times? Single site or multi-site P25 System? Simulcast System? And only knowing a "frequency", how would one answer any of these questions? I think more info is needed in order to discuss your question/situation with any confidence.

On the Pro-197

Nope on the Radio Shack Pro-197 it searched out on signal stalker a frequency and i can auto store it. Displays P25 and 393 code
On my Bearcat 996Xt I chose ONE FREQUENCY TRUNK .
I put the frequency in and made it ID SEARCH.
Guess what It works!
15X.XXXXX Digital code is 393 I know nothing else.
