USMC Cpl. Garrett Carnes is being escorted as I write this down I-77 from the VA state line. He is due in Mooresville within the next 30-45 minutes. The Town is really coming out in support of this young man, who lost both legs and received other injuries from an IED blast in Afghanistan. The Patriot Guard Riders and Mooresville Police are escorting him home.

I'm not exactly sure which talkgroups on the Mooresville TRS will be in use for the extra ops. Most likely MPD Tac channels, Events channels, and possibly MFD work channels.

The procession will take Exit 36 off of I77 and follow NC 150 Eastbound to NC 3/Iredell Ave. They will travel NC 3 to Broad St. They will take Broad south to McLelland Ave. and go across the railroad tracks to turn back north on Main St. The procession will pass the Welcome Home Veterans Cafe along Main before stopping in front of the Charles Mack Citizens' Center for ceremonies.

As of 5:00 or 5:01, the procession crossed into Iredell County southbound (monitored on the Mooresville Fire live feed).
