Wicked. Love it. Anyone have plans for data/audio capture apps to process from the serial/USB port? I can't imagine the audio output is discriminator/IF level, or is it?

Question .. unit ID display .. it shows on sub line of 3rd line box (department name) where the service tag shows .. if I edit the UID from the numeric display to alpha display, Med 4 for example .. the CHANNEL or TALKGROUP ID name changes to what I entered for unit ID .. is this correct ? Doesn't seem right, you want the talkgroup ID to remain the same and the NEW unit ID NAME to display on that sub line ... ???

Using "RF Power Plot" I was able to determine the best extension on my Watson 889 for my local 800 mHz trunked system is five sections. I realize it is a pretty simple discovery, but I've never tried changing the antenna length and the result is amazing!

As dumb as I am, under the url http://my.uniden.com/myaccount.cfm?cat=3 I see my scanners there and it says Purchase Upgrade Key where my scanner is listed. But I've already purchased the key.

Your Unit is working just fine.
If the alphatag that you give the UID is over a certain limit then the UID name is bumped
up one line to the Talkgroup/Channel ID line.
Basically it has to do with how you alphatag the UID.

Have upgraded the HP1 to Extreme, and while Analysing a Motorola UHF (400 MHz) P25 System, the activity log shows the control channel as 854.6562 MHz, when it should be 416.125 MHz. The system ID of 02D1 is correct, the voice channels are correct and the TG and RID's are also correct. This system is located in Australia.

Any suggestions.

I saw this all go down while I was at work today and rushed home as best I could to load up the new free updates.
It was very quick and painless, took about 5 min at the most but now I can kicking myself.

Why did I not buy the extreme update? Now if I want it I have to pay G note.

F! Am I dumb....and cheap

Oh well, it is cool to be able to scan multiple systems at once, the delay thingee will be cool also,


While I cry in my lite beer about what I did not do I want to thank Paul O and his team for giving us a decent free update and making this amazing scanner even better!


I'd like to ask:

I had no idea that the extreme upgrade would allow for Radio Id's.
Now that I know this I am really kicking myself in the a^^.
Thats all I ever wanted from a scanner like this RID's.

I bought this scanner in Oct /10. I guess there is no way that I can still take advantage of the extreme update in any way for $49.99?

Upgrade went without any problems. However, I'm having the issue of an 800MHz trunked Motorola Smartzone system (1F25, Broward Co. Fla.) displaying frequencies in the 935-940MHz range when running the "Current Activity" Monitor. One site is displaying no frequencies.

Two other unrelated Moto trunked systems (813A and 3619) are displaying everything correctly.

So if I am understanding this correctly, if you add alpha tags to your radio id's, the talk group tag is not shown? I had expected it to show up below it.

A earlier response to my inquiry indicated I had too many characters in my unit ID rename, for it to display on sub line .. I shortened it, still causes the talk group name to be replaced. Still trying ...
Hope this is a bug, otherwise not much sense in rename feature.

all my trunk discovery results so far as saying 0 seconds under both summary and detail? Bug or user (my) error.

time and TG all seem to be correct. will try to test more

System activity screwed up on 700 P25 Trunking too.
CC of 770.91875 displays as 859.91875.
CC of 774.83125 displays as 863.83125
VC's show correctly though.
Also don't understand why alt CC's aren't populated right from the get go.
No site neighbors or Neighbor status logged?
Site trunking or Wide area status not logged?
Seems either quite broken or quite anemic in it's current iteration....

its only the unit id's in part of the advanced trunk discovery mode that is a paid upgrade

if you were looking for unit id"s then just upgrade to v2.0 they are there
