I used the GPS in my car with a HP-2 on a trip from NYC to Washington DC two summers ago and it worked very well. You can set the GPS mile radius limit on the radio to customize what you want to listen to as well.

Received my 436HP last night. Only had a little time to do anything with it as I had an early trip this morning, but my initial impressions are very positive. I put on my 800mhz ducky and threw in my zip code and was off. I couldn't believe what I was picking up, some of the transmissions were from neighboring counties that I could never pick up on my pro-668.
Not a big fan of the belt clip, kinda large vs my RS scanners, but that has been the only negative. Can't wait to get home in a week and really dive in.
Btw I bought from Amazon, it was a good price at $373 being open box. Everything was pristine and all I could tell was it appeared to be opened and closed back up.
