So my question is:

I am wanting to receive a P25- Phase 1 Group in my area on my HP-2.

My System: GATTRS - Greater Austin etc. etc.
Simulcast 1 - Mostly the Austin PD I want to hear
Simulcast 2 - Other Agencies
Round Rock Tower - my local agencies but they are all encrypted so care less

When I put in the zip it picks up the closest tower (Round Rock) but does not pull in the Agencies I want (Austin PD from Simulcast 1) - I guess they are only on one of the towers. (Which is farther away). I have played with Range but then it gets both towers and mixes in other agencies.(Too many channels to scan)

So Sentinel is the answer - choose the Agencies I want - but is there a way in Sentinel to choose the Simulcast Tower that I want to receive off of? Thanks to Radio Reference I know the frequencies and ID's for the system but was hoping I wasn't going to have to type those in.

Any ideas?

There is no way to select one simulcast tower in any system. The frequencies, system data, etc. are all the same so it all appears as one.

I suspect that "simulcast 1" is a separate zone from "Round Rock", so the issue may not be as simple as that.

Regardless, you would have to be able to receive their Simulcast 1 site in order to receive them unless they roam into a site you can pick up.

In Sentinel:

Database>USA>Texas>Travis>County Systems>Greater Austin/Travis Regional Radio System (GATRRS)>RIGHT CLICK>Append Favorites List

In Sentinel:

Edit Favorites List (gold star with little pencil)>CHOOSE FL you "Appended" GATRRS to.

Under "Departments", Avoid (On/Off) or Delete (Red X) any Departments as desired.

Under "Sites", Avoid (On/Off) or Delete (Red X) any Sites as desired.

Under "Departments", SELECT a Department, Avoid (On/Off) or Delete (Red X) any "Channels" as desired. On the same screen/page Set "Delay", "Channel Alert", "Volumn Offset", as desired.

File>Save>Exit

Assuming you are familiar with uploading a FL to the scanner.

And that accomplishes nada in receiving one tower as the OP wants.

It will load any and all of the simulcast sites as stated above.

Rwier - that is very helpful - new I could choose - Departments.

Never messed with Sites..

You all have been very helpful - Thanks.

Ordered a bcd536hp to compare with this HP-2 in regards of reception - I will keep the best - although I will say I like the portability of the HP-2 in the car.
