I used the HP-2 and the Uniden GPS on a road trip through southern California. Since I was travelling I-15 I wanted to listen to CHP only. I would have the scanner hold on CHP and within a few minutes the HP-2 would switch to the counties I was near (ie. Riverside, San Bernardino) and I would have to switch it back to CHP. I was using the full database. Any ideas?

Create a favorites list and add the entire CHP to it by going to the full database and then doing a right click append to that favorites list.

Then in the profile, set this favorites list to location control yes.

Load it to the radio.

Once you turn on the radio, select just your favorites list and turn off the full database. (Menu - manage favorites lists)

The radio will use GPS to scan just the CHP stuff in the favorites list, and the use of GPS should scan only those CHP channels in range.

I believe I was holding on a system. The top portion on the screen.

Thank you for the suggestion of making a favorite list using the entire CHP. That makes sense.
