I was wondering if anyone out there is running a Uniden HP on milcom? If so, any opinions? I was wondering if it stands up to the 396XT in terms of sensitivity.

It won't touch the selectivity or sensitivity of a 780xlt
If you love milcom then that's your target!

I use the HP-1 and a BCT15X for Milcom and they both do a great job when hooked up to my Discone. The only thing I don't like is the HP-1 scans slower than my 15X with the same programming.

Well, I decided on the HP1. I'm pretty impressed, It's kinda deaf on VHF Air with the stock ducky, haven't had it long enough to comment on UHF Air.

I plugged it up to my satcom antenna and it seems to do very well on satcom.

I must say, the extreme updates make it a fun radio.
