HomePatrol II and Burlington MA Police

Hello all:
I just bought a HomePatrol II Unit so I can listen to the Burlington MA Police Department.
I manually entered the channel and it works here and there but I don't understand what the
12.5k Auto Mode is? You can adjust it apparently? What does it exactly do??

12.5k is the step setting between frequencies, auto will use the default setting. The user has the option to manually adjust the steps between frequency ie narrowband to wideband etc. I usually just leave it on auto. Mark's easier to read manuals are better at explaining things than I am-
