March 24, 2010 On Wednesday March 24, 2010 the Honey Brook Fire Company and a ladder truck from the Twin Valley Fire Company were dispatched to the 800 block of Maple Street in Honey Brook Borough for a dwelling fire. Ambulance 33-2 was first arriving and reported a 3 story dwelling with fire showing from the first floor. With that report Chief 33 (Messner) added Engine 49 from the East Brandywine Fire Company as the Rapid Intervention Team. Engine 33-1, Engine 33-5, and Rescue 33 all quickly responded with 20 personnel. Engine 33-1 arrived and deployed two 1 3/4" handlnes into the dwelling as Engine 33-5 and Rescue 33 upon arrival laddered the building and performed search and rescue. The dwelling was converted into an apartment building with multiple units needing to be checked. Ladder 69 was assigned to assist with ventilaton and search and rescue as needed. Engine 49 arrived and stood by in case of any firefighter emergencies. The handline crews made a quick knockdown of the fire and checked for any hidden fire. The fire was placed under control and Engine 49 was asked to standby in case of another alarm until Engine 33-5 was back in service. All units cleared the scene some time later as the Chester County Fire Marshals Office and a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal conducted an investigation.
