Hooking CB antenna to scanner

Will it damage my scanner if i hook a CB antenna to it? It seems to get a lot better reception. I have a 346xt Uniden. I drive a truck and i hook it to a firestick antenna. It works great.

It should not cause a problem as long as

1) CB is disconnected
2) it is not a base loaded ant. They are tuned to 27mhz, and the tuned circuit pretty well kills anything above 30-40 mhz. Some of the whips make exellent low band scanner antennas

It pulls in the chp channels around alot better with the firestick. I'm looking at getting a Diamond though.

Anything metallic will work as a scanner antenna. A CB whip is going to be a really big scanner antenna... just tuned to 27mhz range. Should still work fine. Are you using it indoors or on a car?
