Aren't those the temporary construction licenses and of no value anymore?

The one i looked up was a STA, Special Temporary Authority, which is a short term license and it related to many other licenses for the same frequencies. These other licenses are valid until 2011 and 2012. Looks like no harm, no foul.

Of course we have seen licenses expired. If they are in the 866 to 869 MHz range then there is usally no problem as the frequencies are assigned by the region plan via the region committee. Even though a license may expire, the plan is still in effect so no hassle in getting re-licensed. The big down size is the cost of coordination.

As we saw in Nevada, if they are not Natl Plan frequencies then there can be major problems and an agency may not get them back. This is especially true in the 851 to 855 MHz range where public safety is no longer eligible.

Quite a few of the sites had multiple licenses for the same, or similar sets of freqs. Looks like all that is happening is thiat is finally getting cleaned up. No cause for alarm.
