I should have a BCD396XT in use by first of the week, so will again be able to monitor everything and use Pro96Com and other software to log things.... Possibly even set up an feed on Pro Scan.

According to the IPSC site, phase 1 cutover has been delayed until "sometime" in Feb., which would explain why I haven't heard any activity on the p25 system this week. Also, of note, it looks like the 2 systems will NOT be run together. There was some speculation earlier that they may run both systems together for a while, that's not going to be the case. Finally, it looks like they plan on doing the cutover during the overnite hours to minimize impact.

Jeff.

Correct no date given, just be ready ! Also correct on both systems won't be on at same time. Wouldn't make any sense to be able to test a few radios on the new system for a few days before the old one is shut off to test our code plugs..................

The Southern Zone Controller is online. Testing to happen this week. Also more testing on the Indy site. Mid Feb is hoped for switchover. Originally they were going to have both online so that those that possibly didn't have new radios time to get them. But since the delays now ate that time up, they are just going to go full over. Most conversions done i sections do the both on. As was done with IDPS, and the HamCo switch to IDPS, and 800 MHz LA TRS, to LWIN. Then some go all out, and entire system at once, like the VIPER to VIPER P25 one did, and AR 800 to AWIN.

ISP District 42 announced P25 system test to Troopers

Yesterday at 1600 hrs District 42 Versailles post asked all units to switch to New system for p 25 test. I do not have it programmed yet so was unable to monitor the results . Any idea when RR will have the talk groups listed for P25 Jennings and Jefferson county ?

I was not in the area at the time, but I did have my hp1 monitoring the Versailles site (p25 version). The hp1 didn't record any hits. Also, based on the cutover plan, it doesn't appear there's a convenient way for them to switch the sites over to the p25 system and then back to the old system. Now, later I the evening, they ran tests on the npspac repeaters, they actually referred to them as "tac" channels or repeaters. Anyway, they plan use them for primary communications during the cutover.

when updated on montogmery county talkgroup is stay the same

From what I've seen listed so far for my area, all the talkgroups will change. MILF has been updating as info becomes available, but I'd recommend monitoring the new system with your scanner set to "ID search" for a while until everything gets sorted out.

I think I have all the TG's for Southern Zone in. I will relook over the listings Friday. I will begin populating Northern Zone asap. Will also relook at the sites I have for the Code Plugs I have.

So what is going on with the SE Indiana startup? Is it delayed again?

Not that I know of. Southern Controller has been online for over a week. Testing has been occurring on it and the INDY site. Still waiting for someone to confirm the southern first site. The INDY test site is a SOW I believe, (Running freq set that is not part of any of the 3 local fixed repeaters) so possibly they may have an SOW down there too. So guys, you need to be doing searching in the 800 MHz freqs for an P25 CC. I am far too far away from there to recieve anything on my 996XT using the supplied rubber duckie.... Once I get an SMA/BNC adapter and get my 800 MHz duckie I can get a lot more... But still way too far to get the South Zone until they get Morgan and Johnson Counties up. And that is still 2 months off.

a rubber duck on a 996XT??? Perhaps you meant a 396XT.

Once they do the SW corner I can do some monitoring but SE is a bit too far for any of my scanners even with a Yagi.

LOL yeah.... 396XT.....

Evasnville is the SZC.... You should have a CC active on P25 there. It should register as a site with Zone of 2. 2-XXX It most likely will NOT be the actual Evasville primary site. The one here is an SOW, I believe located at ISP D-52 HQ. I didn't notice anything parked at the IPSC building, or IGC so it has to be at the Post. (Also judging from the signal strength....)

I did some driving around the northern Dearborn County area this morning and did not get any P25 control channels. I drove SR-1 from US-50 to I-74.

Depending on how the rest of the day goes I may take a drive over to the ISP D-42 HQ and see what I find. If I don't get over today I will get over this week.

My searching has not turned up any new systems in my area.

Just for reference, where I live I can pick up these towers on the current system:
Charlestown
Floyds Knobs
Henryville
Pekin (sometimes)

I'v heard the same comms "Flagman" on the Anderson site using TG 34032. The RIDs are within a larger group of DOT radios and some have been on DOT TGs. However that does not prove anything on a system like SAFE-T.
Active on the Greenwood site today. Sounds like they are on the interstate in the downtown area. Anybody identified this one yet?

OK after seeing this and hearing it myself....
INDOT, Statewide Work Site Safety (Flagmen) is actually sounding pretty accurate.

The jennings county site is currently broadcasting on 853.3375 using p25 mode It is rebroadcasting everything that is on the old system. Not sure if this is helpful. I just loaded the above freq and selected p25 as the system type to see if anything would decode.

Any TG ID's differing from what I have posted so far?

Transmitter is not on full time. Have logged Jennings Co. Sheriff as 31924 for certain. This required listening to one radio on the current system to identify the transmission, and the 853.3375 control channel set to P25 on a second radio connected to the computer for logging. Not sure if this is the proper way to try and ID TGs. My first time playing with logging. (other than out in our woods, but that's a different story altogether)
