Hello all, long time lurker, first post and question. I just picked up a TRX-1. I live in carroll county and work in tippecanoe county. Should i just use the county location for P-25 talkgroups that comes loaded on sd card or something eles, or have they even switched yet

Tippecanoe is now beginning usage of its own new P25 TRS. Any SAFE-T listings are as backup and interop.

So, the CSX police came up on a local law enforcement talkgroup. That's a little different from them having their own TG and local LE going there or a dispatcher patching a local LE TG into the railroad TG.

Just caught CSX police again out on a wanted subject and called Vigo Central Dispatch on THPD Dispatch about him and for a transport unit! LOL 14:20 local time!

Sat rad you can't get on scanner. Its used by all state eoc to talk to other states and fema. Ms used to use it for main ops before mswin.

Yes, and that is the first time I have heard them. Seems SAFE-T is the only Statewide TRS they will use. They have made statements of refusal on most of them. I have heard CN a few times on the SWMAs on the old SAFE-T, and once on the P25.

Will the additional simulcast sites have to be completed before the phase 3 upgrade? Are there any other places beside here to track the phase 3 activation date?

To the best of my knowledge, all of the SAFE-T sites that were in phase 3 of the P25 implementation have been converted to P25. I believe that we are now waiting for phase 4 of the roll-out.

I heard LaPorte County will switch over by the middle of May. From what I heard, La Porte City and Long Beach PD will be fully encrypted with LaPorte County Sheriff and Michigan City PD operating in the clear using a combination of 800 and 700 MHz talkgroups.

What's causing all of the delays in the cutover. It seems like every month they push it back another month.

that is why i was wondering if they were going to complete the new simulcast sites (uh-oh lol) before the phase 4 switchover. also heard the t1 companies were dragging their feet with the new connectivity.

There has been many issues with AT&T and the others providing the connectivity etc. There also has been some much needed TLC being given to sites that have not been getting proper attention in a long time. There also has been a couple of county and municipal level agencies that for one reason or another couldn't make certain deadlines for changes to TG lineups, radio acceptance, and programming etc. Then you have the usual paperwork errors in filings with FCC etc that had to get redone, ad nauseum....
Like I have said when the State is involved, there will be delays, issues, etc....
Again, last I heard was phase 4 flips by end of March, though I myself would bet on May, with the final phase by July/August. I have also heard they are adding Motorola Smart X Bridges for IDOC use until they can convert the IDOC systems to P25.

Is there any talk of expanding LSM to other areas that don't already have it? I've been wondering about this. I often hear field units having trouble making contact on portables, though mobiles seem to make it into the sites reliably. There's no LSM in my home area, Hendricks County is the closest. I travel through that area pretty regularly, and so far I haven't had any issues with it.
