OK to clarify...
There is NOT a separate system, both the 700 MHz simulcast, and 800 MHz simulcast are SAFE-T P25 sites. But until this phase goes live, we have no exact data on the way they have it set up in the radios. They may combine both 700 and 800 into 1 simulcast, or keep them separate. We also now have no clue as to how site numbering has changed with this. We need very close monitoring as the transition goes live in next couple of weeks. Until YOU out there submit accurate data when it happens, we can not put it in the DB. The site numbering right now most likely WILL CHANGE, as will other details.

Testing on TAC and MA TGs in safe-t phase4 counties. What day of the week have they switched the previous safe-t phases on? Heard by Laporte and Starke counties. Anyone getting anything on St Joey or Marshall county sites?

You think IPSC will do a changeover like this when you know there's increased traffic enforcement and DUI checkpoints set up all over the state this weekend?

One would think not. Though, MAs and ITACs quiet all week until today. Also, they were working on several safe-t sites during the week. Switchover seems near.

What does checkpoints and all have to do with it?? Nada. If they have things set to go, and all is good, they go. Trust me, listen close tonight, and during day tomorrow. You will hear them say yay or nay. Make sure you have the 8 Call/8 Tacs in your scanner, ISP will go to them right before transition starts. Whatever backup system your local agencies have, they will go to those. P25 conversion will begin in sections with Motorola and IPSC check ins at 22:00, first flip ons at 23:00, and take usually about 2 hours tops if no problems arise. By 0:00 first agencies will begin testing on their P25 TGs. By 04:00 the entire first half will be live. The next night, it all happens again with the second half. Being that there are 3 simulcasts in this phase also, things will be interesting. Keep UniTrunker, and Pro96Com etc ready to roll on every site you can receive. ALSO - watch any IN DOC TRS sites near you for conversions to SAFE-T P25!

For those in the southern end of Phase 4, keep an eye on the IJCF SAFE-T site, and INDOC TRS site at Plainfield!

Speaking of IN DOC... Hey folks over in Henry County, could you check up on the INDOC site there for conversion to SAFE-T, or is it still Motorola?

Thanks for all the info milf, Ive got my listening ears on! LOL
Speaking of 8TACs, 5 of them are listed with the Laporte group of freqs. Looks like they might roll Wanatah site into the Laporte simulcast as the south site and add the 700mhz across the LSM.
I heard they were redoing the interop areas and towers, that might be why 8TACs are listed under more sites.

No cigar on phase 4 last night. Darn. Still testing being done on 8TACs today. Another thing I noticed on safe-t sites with 6 freqs or so, only 4 are being utilized, including CC. So there are 2 or more freqs parked. Could this last item be an indicator of phase 4.

Hey Milf, do you know anything about IPSC having a tower site at US 20 & SR 49 in Porter County? It's my understanding that it's an IPSC site but I'm not sure what it's used for. I did hear it will be part of the new Porter County system once they get it up and running.

I know of a safe-t in valparaiso east at sr49 and 600N. That is one they are using 4 of 6 freqs for voice.

Right, that's the only one I ever knew of too...but I recently saw a document that indicates there is a tower at US 20 / SR 49 that belongs to IPSC and is going to be part of the new system in Porter County....I was just curious of anyone knew if it was being used for something other than Safe-T right now? I believe the State Police used to use it when they were on their old systems before Safe-T came to be...I wonder if its just been sitting there not being used since then.

Porter co uses it for sheriff and county fd. Amongst others, north town such as burns harbor are utilizing rt20 and sr49 too.

Well duh, that makes sense! I knew we had a tower site in that area but it's labeled as "Dunes" so I guess I just assumed it was in the dunes state park somewhere...never put 2 & 2 together [emoji849]
