I heard LaGrange Co Dispatch tone out all fire departments on analog this morning to say P-25 updgrade was activated.

All day I've heard nothing on Hoosier Safe-T even though at times the signal strength bar shows signal.

I'm not clear what this upgrade means. Using a RS Pro-197 here. What's my next step?

I have a Pro-197 and a Pro-106. All I did was change the system type from Motorola 800/900 Type II to P-25 Auto. I am getting the new talk groups left and right on a wildcard search. Deleted all the old talkgroups.

I've been seeing "Dat" frequently on unitrunker, does this mean a text message or some kind of data transfer? I know it means data per the manual but i'm wondering how its being utilized.

Data could be anything from text messaging, to GPS location, to request for regroup, to OTAP/OTAR...

Well, round 2 is tonight.. And if no problems, thats it till the new sites, and conversions are done. When I get home from work tomorrow night, I will officially deprecate the old system.

The description of P-25 phase 1 on the download is what confused. I thought it was a different "phase" but I guess that was the order they were rolling it out.

All is reprogrammed and working now, plus I was able to get reacquainted with programming my BC396T from work.

While we're on the topic of Unitrunker oddities, I've been wanting to ask about this ...

I frequently see a call with no source ID, no source label, no target label, and a target ID of 10000. I pick it up on all the towers within my range, dozens of times a day.

What is it?

SAFE-T P25 Conversion DONE!

All sites except for the IJCF site are now converted to P-25! The old Motorola SmartZone is gone. All that is left is the new sites, and conversions of other systems to the SAFE-T. (Such as INDOC sites in the future.)

From what I was told, IJCF will go over with the Plainfield DOC system.

I am setting the correct ranges for the SAFE-T TG County Groupings, and ran into a slight snag on one set....
Fountain/Warren Regional....
I need the GPS Coordinates of the EXACT CENTER of the combined counties. Anyone? Such as the exact midpoint on the Fountain/Warren Line.... Or proximity thereof?
