Well it seems to me that they think their channel is encrypted at least. One of the units said "I got a call - dispatch can hear us" after they had all been using some less than polite language. Then he said "I'm just messing with you guys, we're secure they can't hear us"

You're absolutely correct sir. Nobody at all can hear you. ;)

I just started monitoring the Mooresville site tonight, and I'm hearing a lot of IDPS traffic. When I did a site hold, I was hearing Marion County Sheriff and Corrections on TGs that matched Hamilton County TGs on SAFE-T. Is the Mooresville site known to simulcast IDPS? I'm sure anything is possible, but I didn't know if systems could cross? Am I saying that correct?

I have the same problem. I looked at the db and see that the Mooresville site and IDPSC are both using freq 857.9375.

Thanks. I didn't think that frequencies would be shared like that. I see now that they also share freq 857.6625. I deleted both of those frequencies, and now I get no signal from Mooresville. Based on what I can normally monitor, in terms of location, this makes way more sense. The more I play around with different sites, I notice that I am getting strong signals (and picking up Hancock and Shelby County TGs) on "sites" that are way out of my listening range here in Indianapolis.

Ummm Shelby and Hancock are not out of range. All county tgs are set for 2 county radius around the primary county. I pick up almost 8 sites from my home in nnw Indy and tgs from nearly all of central in.

Should have been more clear... I was hearing Hancock/Shelby on SITES that should be out of range, like Solsberry and a couple of others.

Before I turned off ID search to cut down on traffic and focus on what I wanted to hear, I could often get Putnam, Clinton, Johnson, Shelby, Hancock... but...

It continues to aggravate me that I easily get Boone, Hendricks and Marion from my NW Indy house, but not Hamilton. I guess it's time for an outdoor antenna?

Both. One and a very great while, I'll get a hit (but no traffic) on Carmel PD off IDPS, but it's almost always crickets otherwise.

The idps simulcast S3 is hard to get unless your within a mile of it or just lucky. The safe-t site is usually a little better. They are planning another hamco site in future.

I don't hear anything on the SAFE-T site either (Hortonville, right?)

Funny, that's another site where I at first was hearing Shelby and Hancock TGs. But nothing Hamilton. I realized later that Hortonville and Franklin sites share a CC frequency.

I spoke with a La Porte police officer and they said that LaPorte County is having problems with the encryption capabilities on their new radio system. He said technicians are working on the problem. Just so you know, La Porte City & Long Beach PD will be encrypting their radios full time. LaPorte County Sheriff and Michigan City PD will be in the clear except for their tac channels.

Anyone know what is going on with the Yankeetown tower? I haven't had a CC signal for about a week and now it's back almost 4 bars of signal. Still only carries Warrick County traffic, no State stuff.
