going by the database it says
System Type: NEXEDGE Standard
System Voice: NXDN

Does anyone know when they will be switching to NXDN?

According to an unamed source, project is currently in the build out phase for infrastructure. Scheduled completion is sometime in 2011.

I don't know when/if they actually will go through with the new Nexedge system... but if counties keep going, my VHF radio will only be useful in my county and for amateur operator use.... LOL

As of today, the Madisonville Police and Hopkins Co. Sheriff are still operating on analog (FM)
155.625 and 159.210 respectively. I do not monitor Government frequencies in this town so I can't say for them. Public utilities and FEMA are still on analog also. I will be saddened when they go to Nexedge..I guess I will sell my pro2055 then.

My understanding is that the city has no intentions to move to the system.

As of December, the antenna had not even been installed on the Murray State Tower next to the Community College. Not sure what the plan for deployment is.

At this time, Hopkins County is not switching to Nexedge. Instead it's switching to P25 UHF. At this time there is no completion date.
