Have heard rumors that this trunked system is going in place by start of the new year.

The local Radio Shack advised it will be a digital system (unsure if that means digital - ie P25 or digital - ie trunking).

Anyone in the Hopkinsville area that can shed some light on this one? I noticed that Monday the 460.6000 frequency was still in use as a conventional repeater for Hopkinsville Fire/EMS and all other public safety traffic was still on VHF.

I can't say what it will be (non-disclosure issues), but it isn't likely to be P-25, based on the FCC database info.

From their filing with the state, it said that they were going to do an MPT 1327 system. This is not a digital system, but as far as I know there is no scanner to monitor the system.
