Just thought I would add that they also use 857.2125 as a c.ch. U may want to add that to your scanner.I live in surfside and monitor with a Pro 95. I guess they want to keep us on our toes lol.happy scanning to all!

The County was supposed to put 2 new towers in operation I don't have my laptop with me right now but that freq. sounds like the 4 different control channels I scan.

The database shows all of these controllers. Horry Co was last updated April 9th 2005 Posting on the SC Yahoo Groups would help also. There are lots of people making trips to the coast and scannist always carry at least a portable.

I was able to monitor the Horry Co. TRS with trunker for a few days recently. I only saw it use 860.2125 and 859.2125. But that was just a few days.

I have a couple of talkgroup questions-

1552 was very active. It's listed as Horry Co. FBO. What does that mean?

6604, 6640 and 6704 were active, but aren't identified in the database. Anyone know what agency uses those talkgroups?

One example of FBO would be A Fixed Base Operator (also known as Fixed Base of Operation), or FBO, is a service center at an airport that may be a private enterprise or may be a department of the municipality that the airport serves.

Not sure if that's what it is, as I have not really monitored the Horry system in a long time.

Hey there
I believe 6704 is Conway Fire Dept and and the other 2 IDs look like they are being used for Coway Fire fire talkaround channels and FBO is used at the airport for when they use for fueling and giving passenger counts, Ive also heard them ask when the bird has landed what ramp they want to use that type of thing. It is a very busy talk group 1264 airport police use that

Thanks for the information about Conway FD. I did not know that they had converted from VHF. I'll update the database.

yes
its strange though with Conway because Horry tones out some calls while Conway also answers some of the Fire dept personel on there own freq talkgroups is that what simulcast means

Horry County is telling the rescue squad chiefs that somethime after the first of the the year that they will drop their vhf EMS freq. 155.2950 and stop using the EMS 800 talkgroup 8432.

They will still use vhf fire freq. 154.4000 only for tone outs and initial call info, they are telling us they will not monitor this freq after that time.

After being toned out on 154.4000 we will have to reply to them on fire 800 talkgroup 7216, and at that time depending the location of the call dispatch will direct us to either Tac-1 or Tac-2.

As for conway fire they tone them on vhf, their engine company or squad rolls and then usually depending on the call their dispatch will toneout on their vhf channel 155.880.

Now they may be changing things around, with everything going 800.
