Hello everyone,
I think it was on Saturday night Dec.11 around 11:00pm.
There was a call about shots fired on the Eastside and a possible hostage situation. It turned out the incident was happening just around the corner from my home……great!
Anyway the command post was setup and it was very interesting listening. They called in SWAT and evacuated a couple of homes. They even took a section of fence down to gain access to the backyard of the house involved. Snipers were setup and in position. There was at least 20 police cars, EMS and a lot of private vehicles as SWAT members begin showing up.
Then it seemed to slow down and I lost most of the “tactical” communications. I could tell things were happening but seemed to be missing parts of the conversations.
There was enough to keep me interested but I’m pretty sure I missed something.
This was by far the most exciting thing I’ve listened to.
Did anyone else hear any of this?
It turns out there were some shots fired at two officers and they were pinned down for a short period. A woman and child were removed from the house and then the waiting game started as everything was setup.
The whole thing ended around 6:00am. The Salvation Army even showed up with their van and was making coffee and sandwiches for everyone.
It was only mentioned a little in the news, long after it was over.
Anyone have info on where the other radio traffic might have been? I didn’t want to miss anything so I didn’t do a lot of searching but what little I did do I couldn’t find anything that sounded like it was involved in this incident.
Thanks,
Jeff
