I realize that there is tonnes of interference in ones house that reall kills sw signals.

Man I remember back in the late 70's up until the early 90's, hardly any interference. interference has grown exponentally with LCD's, computers, cell phones ect.

I always used the internal whip on my radio's years ago without a problem, not now.

Everone who owns a Grundig Sat 800 knows that the LCD creates noice but on 90 meters the electrical noise is bad! The Sat 800 is really really bad on batteries so I use just the walwart.

But on my eton e1 I brought it outside and alot of the noise went away BUT still get interference from the street lights and such.

But then when I go outside I have people asking me what is it (the radio) then bs'ing and then I cannot scan the bands....that is very annoying.

I actually solved a problem with noise on my E1XM a couple posts ago. Check out that thread and you can see what I did. I even posted a video.
