Houston Fire & Police / Visitor to Houston

Houston Fire - I hear the automated dispatch on Citywide. I hear Regional Operators. What TG's do the units use as they arrive on scene and give arrival report. I know the TAC / Fireground channels are encrypted.

Houston Police - I hear their dispatchers and units back. Do officers switch to an encrypted channel or are they using MDT to notify of arriving on scene.

Harris Co S.O. seems easier to follow than HPD. But that's likely because I have so little experience listening to HPD.

They give size ups and unit to unit traffic on the Regional Op channels. If they request a TAC channel they are encrypted.

HPD indicates they have arrived by pressing a soft key on their MDT unless there is some specific need to use voice because of circumstances (e.g. a crime in progress or something they want to let others know about). They also clear this way.
