Houston PD Traffic Bureau units-where did they go?

For a very long time, Houston PD Traffic Bureau units worked off of the Special Operations channel. All of a sudden I don't hear them anymore on that or any other channel. These units are, for example, solo motorcycles 99Zxx, accident units 70Zxx, DWI Task Force units 96Zxx, etc. I've checked every HPD channel and can't find them anywhere. Does anybody have a clue where they disappeared to? It's about to drive me nuts trying to figure it out.

Since the word "channel" was used, I don't know if you are referring to HPD conventional channels or talk groups. I don't even know if HPD uses any conventional channels. I am pretty certain you were referring to talk group on the TxWarn trunked system.

The only HPD Special Ops talk groups I see are 30080 (phase 2) & 30188 (phase 1).

I'm an old timer, so I still use the term "channel", and so do the HPD dispatchers, for that matter. 30080 is the standard Special Ops channel, and I've never seen 30188. As far as I know, there's only one Special Ops. That's not even the point. I listen to Special Ops all the time, but I hear very few Traffic Bureau units on there anymore, that used to be the main channel they worked off of, and I can't figure out where they've gone. Does anyone hear traffic units working on any channel with any regularity? I just hear an occasional one, once in a while on Special Ops-where did they go?

Now all of a sudden I hear traffic units on Spec Ops a lot, so I don't know what was going on. The dispatcher tried to contact one of the DWI Task Force sergeants, and another sergeant said that he usually works on the back channel, but what back channel I have no clue

I’d imagine the “back channel” is one of the encrypted SO Tac TG’s.

All of a sudden they have a lot of DWI Task Force units (96Zxx) out patrolling. On a Thursday night? Maybe they're out trying to catch Spring Breakers
