This thread (http://forums.radioreference.com/rants/180585-w6nut-world-famous-amateur-repeater.html) discusses that repeater and gives some history on that group. It appears that the general consensus is it's better to leave them there with that frequency (which everyone knows what goes on) than shut it down and have them split up and infect several of the repeaters. That still doesn't make it right, however.

That's the most logical approach to this. To paraphrase Salman Rushdie, it's easy to not be offended by the radio. Just turn it off.

Yeah, that's about right. As long as they stay in one place they're easier to ignore. There are a few HF frequencies too and more dead horses to beat but if you don't say anything I won't either.
