How do I download frequencies to use in Programming Software

I've been a scanner freak for years but took a break as things got more complicated. I just bought a 796D to monitor Palm Beach County, FL and others. Where can I download the frequency files to easily program them in using the PC. I just bought the ARC 250 Software as well. Thanks!

ARC250 doesn't have a download capability? (I don't know, I don't use Butel software.)

Get a copy of RRDB and you can download trunked data from Radio Reference (you'll have to be a contributing member) in UASD format. Since both programs, ARC and UASD, use text files you can probably convert one to the other with little effort. (Using Excel is one way.)

For conventional systems, the only current way here is to copy/paste from the database. That's still a lot easier than programming a couple of hundred channels by hand.

Another way would be to jump to the Florida forum and ask if anyone has a file for your area. That would be the easiest thing to do; you can still go get the reader as Al42 suggested to have another route in case things don't work out.

There are also numerous Florida based scanning reflectors in Yahoo groups; many of these also have files in their home page areas.

The freqs are easy. Navigate to the RRDatabase page for Palm Beach County and click and hold in the area just to the right of County in the freq section then drag down until all freqs are highlighted, then right click and select copy.

With ARC open, select the ADI icon (second row, second icon). In the new popup, click Import From Clipboard. Next, at the top of this popup click on All>> which moves the freqs to the right. Your Blank Template should be on the 1 bank in ARC, now click on Export To Table.

You will need to gather the TG's using other resources. The best method to accomplished this would be to use the free Butels Web service download application found in the RRWiki pages.

Also, the county is multi site which the 250/785/296 and 796 don't do to well with, you may be better off to use one bank for each site. And, it can be set for CC only if desired.
