In particular how do you have your scanners set up for scanning starcom, like the scan lists and each P25 system. I have scan lists for each ISP district and then each district has its own P25 system, I just wanted to know if there was a better way of programming the scanner and see what other people thoughts were.

Here's what I do if I'm traveling (this is all in a v-scanner folder, separate from my every day at home folder). I have each interstate as a system, and also as a scanlist. For example, my scanlist 1 is Chicagoland (all the simulcast sites in the counties that surround the city), 2 is I-39 and 90 combined (not a lot of sites between them, so I consolidated), 3 is I-88, 4 is I-80, and so on and so forth. They're all their own individual system. Then I programmed in all the ISP district channels that whichever road goes through. This way I don't have to fool with a wildcard while I'm driving and don't have to figure out what something is on the fly either. Whenever I switch roads, I just have to simply switch scanlists. If you go with that method and program one scanlist for every (major) interstate in Illinois (and combine 39 and 90), that'll take up 11 lists. I have one for statewide channels (ISPERN, IFERN, I-REACH, etc.), one for CPD, one for St. Louis, one for Rockford, one for the Quad Cities, one for Peoria, one for Bloomington/Normal, one for Springfield, then finally one for US 20 west of Rockford. I'm also in the process of putting all the sheriff departments that are available in my favorites list, to make them easy to access if I need to. For all the StarCom sites, just make a list of all frequencies used by the towers along whatever road, put them all in as control channels and set multi-site to roam. I've made many trips throughout the state using these settings and it works great for me.

A bit long, I know, but that's my method.

It's quite simple really, I just have different services allocated in lists, with a P25 wildcard in the lists 1-8.
Additional starcom21 tg's that are found are just added to appropriate lists between 1-8.

1. County
2. Pd
3. Fire
4. Mabas
5. EMS
6. ISP
7. IEMA
8. Interop.
9. GMRS/MURS/ HAM simplex
10. Civ Aircraft
11. Milair
12. Military
13. ITTF
14. Cleartalk Ltr
15. Ameren
16. Low power
17. Business
18. Federal

Of course, it's always a work in progress. ;)

Well, I have scan list 1 set to scan just D19 using its own trunk system checking the 3 closest towers. then 2 is for my county public safety most of which is VHF analog.
3 is for law enforcement in each of the counties touching mine. 4 is Starcom in general. I have a good mix of control channels in there to pretty much cover from St. Louis to Indiana and Metropolis to Decatur. Ive not had too much problem being out of range even though I know I dont have ever site for this half of the state in that trunk system. And it scans the wildcard, so I just keep adding new TGs as they pop up.
5 is for local railroad, 6 is for not so local railroad, 7 is low band (doesnt do me a lot of good because Im using a Maxrad 700mhz antenna same as whats on troopers cars)
10-15 is other trunked systems around where I sometimes drive to, like Evansville, Indiana State Police, Effingham County, and 16 is Starcom in the northern half of Illinois.
