How good are these 'new' radios at intermod?

Intermod has ALWAYS been a problem with scanners and it seems to has gotten worse with more services on the air and the fact the newer scanners seem to be designed with features vs performance in mind (not that's anything new).
Most radios I have tested in the past just plain suck! Except for the Regency HT-1000 (almost 20 years old now) which is what I benchmark all other radios to since I haven't found anything better and the Pro 2004/2006 which seem to be 2nd. (except for the 'FM' problem of de-senseing the 160 MHz range)

This latest crop of 'DC to light' trunking/digital wonders; are they any good at rejecting intermod that you van live with? I DON'T mean someone living out in the sticks or someone that only uses the attached antenna commenting since you would not have a problem. I mean someone living in a city or a first ring surburb that has a collection of transmitters within 2 or 3 miles!

Bruce, although I am not familiar with your location and reception issues but it seems that you had or have expierienced interference from what ever else you are listening to. If you are looking to get a scanner that knocks all that out I would definitely get a triple conversion scanner. Hope I understood your question correctly.....Triple conversion scanners eliminate mirrored frequencies and intermod problems.

I guess I should add, I use a bc296d and have not expierienced any intermod problems with this radio. As a matter of fact I have always purchased triple conversion scanners from rs or uniden as long as they have been available since the early 90's.

Since Uniden is about the only one that is selling these digital capable scanners it kind of narrows the choices down a little.

Really? How about the RS/GRE PRO-96? I have not had any intermod issues on it - even on outside commercial base station antennas. The PRO-2096 is due out any day now, too.

Pro- 96 is handheld .

Pro-2096 when it debuts will be a base/mobile .

OK, another question from the dumb guy. If "Intermod" is the cause of a scanner not locking onto a control channel, due to being too close to a celluar tower, the Pro 94 suffers from it terribly.
