I purchased a new Pro-651 when Radio Shack went bankrupt. I loved it so much that last Christmas I purchased a "scratch and dent" Whistler WS 1040 to keep in my pickup.
The first thing I noticed after cloning the 1040 is that the display is noticeably more bright. Upon closer examination I see that the new 1040 has four LEDs in the display (two on top and two at the bottom) while the Pro-651 has only two LEDs lighting up at the top of the display. This explains the brightness.
The question is, do I have two burned out LEDs or did Whistler make a change along the way?
Weird question I know, but I appreciate anyone's thoughts.
