How NYPD citywide channels work?

I’m trying to understand the difference between all NYPD CityWide channels that a lot of times relay the same incidents. Which units operate on all the different CityWide channels? What type of units operate on SOD channel? If I had to pick 2 between them all as priority scan channels, which should I choose to get most incidents around all boroughs? There is one CityWide channel that does driver license background checks and something like that is not worth setting as priority scan.

Putting ANY of them in a priority scan is a waste of time.

Those dispatchers put out just about all "heavy" jobs, citywide...before they are confirmed. Even SOD is a waste of time, unless you seem to have an interest in the mental health of the NYC population with all the unconfirmed EDP jobs they put out.

If you can stomach hearing, "...Report of an EDP, off meds, 123 Fake Street, unconfirmed..." 15 or 20 times in 15 minutes, but wish to hear real jobs intermingled with them, you'll have to put SOD in a separate radio....with the volume down.
