Guess I'm not using this program right. No files are being outputted (is that a real word?? LOL) to the desktop.

To be honest, I may not be putting in the right path for it to make any files. I'm getting the info from the Uniden folder on the "My Documents" page. Opening up the folder for x36HP, and then copying the path for a favorite list and pasting it into the program.

If the program is successful, it will tell you it created output files and prompt you to hit enter. If it fails, the program reports it could not open the directory/files you provided.

Did you try using the default path/directory the program looks at or are you using a non-standard location for your Sentinel directory?

I'm not getting reports either way.

Not really sure. What I did was to open "properties" for the desired favorite list, and do a copy of the path to paste in the program. Probably the correct way to do it, right?

You should be able to run the program in one of two ways:

1. double-click on the icon for the program - it will open a command prompt (DOS window) and prompt for the input directory or allow you to use the default.

2. Open a command prompt (DOS window) and run the program on the command line:

x36FavDump

The default installation path for my favoirites is:

C:\Users\troy\documents\uniden\bcdx36hp\favoritieslists

Note: the program starts looking for the files called f_list.cfg in the directory you provide (or in the default directory).

Either I'm having brain farts or I am too stupid to figure this out LOL.

This is what I'm getting when I double click the icon for the program...

Is that the correct path/directory for your favorites lists?

If so, when you hit enter (accepting the default location/directory) the program should end like what is shown in this image.

Obviously I'm not using the correct path because when I press ENTER right after opening the program with the default, I get nothing. No messages, no files on desktop, just a whole lot of nothing. And no matter what path I do put in there, I get no results.

I know I'm doing something wrong in regards to the path, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the correct path entered in.

I couldn't get it to work either because it was wanting to create the file on Troy's desktop, which didn't exist on my machine. So as a workaround I created a \user\Troy\desktop directory and then created a shortcut on my desktop to the favlist file it creates there. Probably not how Troy intended it, but it works fine.

Argh! Absolutely not what was intended! Thanks for letting me know. I have fixed this and was ready to post a new version this morning but the forums appeared (again) to be down. I will post the fixed version later today when I get home.
