How to display scanner frequency on web page?

Hi All,

New here, have been searching but unable to find information on how to display the frequencies the scanner receives on in the web page. Any help would be grateful. What software, what hardware is needed?

Well, here is an easy way, but like the previous poster said, you would need a uniden scanner that has the computer control funciton. The BC-796D comes with some software that puts an exact replica of the scanner faceplate on the screen and you can control and even watch what the display is showing.

If you have Windows XP Professional, you can set up Remote Desktop and just come into your computer remotely from anywhere in the world and look at your scanner display, or control it!

Hearing the audio would entail setting something up entirely different. But you can sure watch the scanner this way.

I just installed 3 BC-796's for ClearChannel Radio for traffic reporting. They put 3 scanners on the screen then stream it 150 miles to another studio where they watch the scanners, listen to the audio of all three, then give local traffic reports for the stations at the scanners location. Good Luck

You could try using the screen capture ability of windows media encoder. Capture the portion of the screen where your scanner control software is displaying the frequency.

2) Write a program that sticks the current frequency in a MySQL database. Then write a program in PHP to generate a web page from the MySQL data.
