how to find locations for the frequencies i all ready have

im new to the scanner world and i just got my new handheld whistler ws1010 scanner. im currently work on scanning my surrounding area but for days now im having diffucultly tracing the locations to these frequencies. Does anyone know how i can find out the answer to my question?

What do you mean by tracing the locations to these frequencies? Where they are located in the scanner? Or who is using them.

If the latter, click on Databases at the top of the page and select your state, then click on the Search tab. You can then search by frequency and it will display the users.

License Search - Advanced License Search

Enter the exact frequency and the State, or City and State and see what pops up. If they are in the USA and have a valid (or recently valid) license, it should show up. Be aware, though, FCC does not license Federal users. They are covered by the NTIA, and there isn't a publicly available database for them.

FCC = USA for Public Safety and Businesses
NTIA = Federal - No info, except via those who search
Industry Canada = Canadian Info

You can also find this through the RR database.

Click on the license hyperlink which will open another window. The Lat and Long are located there.
