how to identified TGID?

Hi

I'm new to trunking and I want to know how to identified TGID (ex: 21056 public work) ??

I tried Idtracker II but it didn,t give me the name of TGID, just the number and unidentified beside it.

I listen to tried to know who using which ID but its took very long time to determined who use the id.

Any help is Welcome

Unfortunately, no program is going to describe to you what a particular TGID is actually used for. That is part of the hobby, in identifying what newly found talkgroups are used for and who they belong too, two separate things to discover. Business trunked systems can be even harder in this respect. For example, you may identify a talkgroup as being used by a plumbing or towing company, but must towns have multiple entries and large cities have pages of these companies in the phone books, so narrowing it down is your task.

Probably the closest thing you can get to what you are asking is to download Unitrunker, and then become a premium subscriber to this site(which allows you to download all the systems off of the database), and in Unitrunker, when you are monitoring a system, you can download from the database all the known talkgroup IDs and their descriptions, which will make them appear in the program.

The caveat to that is, if the TGID is a new one that there is no name or description for it in the database already, then this will be of little use to you.
