We have a wildfire burning here last night, so I put discovery mode on (conventional) and ran it all night. This morning I looked at the summary and found a couple things.

RunInfo_C 43.706877 -116.361965 20.0 168000000 174000000 AUTO Auto 2 All On 30 30 On BLM Conv
Summary_C_Log 169637500 NAC=5 NFM 2 2 C 0 0
Summary_C_Log 172300000 None NFM 0 137 S 1 0

Both audio records are silent, the 172.300 says DAT when it gets hits on that freq.
The 169.6375 shows NAC=5 and I've not found what that means.

The BLM showed up on the fire and some of the firefighters were told to join up with them on TAC 8. I was searching for that freq. Until then the Idaho trunk was were all the activity was.

What I'm looking for is some guidance in identifying freq hits such as the ones above.

Look for P25 systems in your area and see if you can find a nearby site with matching frequencies. NAC is a P25 setting, and the odds of an undiscovered P25 system are pretty much nil. I'm guessing it's part of the Idaho trunk system you mentioned.

Try 172.5875 for TAC 8 or 168.6000

As for the NAC of 005 , many agencies [mostly Federal LE] use 169.6375, might be worth locking in to it, for awhile see what you hear.

I got no hits all night on those two freq. But I'll keep looking.
The NAC 005 is interesting, but is on 169.637500 where our Idaho network is all in the 700 range. I'll see if I can find more trunks around here.

NFM and with both analog using csq pl or dpl tones, and digital p25 using nac codes.
