You missed the obvious (The Wiki). Tells you how to program the 95.

Joey thats not an obvious answer to everyone. Hell I'm on here almost everyday and I forget about it all the time. The obvious place to look is in the manual (yes the answer is in there).

First move should be to get a programming cable and download Don Starr's great (and free) Win95 program here.

It sure would be if you don't want to know how to use the radio. The manual is ALWAYS the first place to look for answers....

To program the -95, you first need to enter the system frequencies. Then, when you have set up the scanner in MOTOROLA mode as the manual says, you should then have no program listening to the system talkgroups.

If you want to listen to the Washington County tower, put these frequencies in:
859.2375, 859.7375, 860.2375 and 860.73750. They're the primary control frequencies for the Washington County tower. 854.9875 is a voice frequency - you don't program those for a Motorola system in the 95.

We have the following talkgroups listed for Tualatin:
54032 Tualatin PD - Tac 2
54064 Tualatin PD - Tac 1
54096 Tualatin PD - Admin
54128 Tualatin PD - Detectives
54160 Tualatin PD - Records

Your choice which groups you want to listen to.

Then hit ctrl-U, hit the scan button on the scanner and you should be scanning the system.

BTW, the information is here.

When you open it, and it stops on a transmission from a Tualatin officer, does it show one of those talkgroup numbers, or some other number?

When you programmed each frequency into the scanner did you set the type to MOT for each frequency?

Try doing a small system WITHOUT WIN 95. Even though you can do control channel only, DON'T. Read the manual, and learn how your scanner works! Win 95 is great for doing text, but as Dubbin said, (see above).
