Excuse me if this question has been asked before,is there away to lock it out but still look for new talkgroups?I pressed the skip button but I think it locked out the whole wildcard,am I correct?

If you don't want to hear the encrypted tg but still want the wildcard scanning then, enter the encrypt tg into a list as if it was something you wanted to scan THEN lock it out!
The GRE will ignore that enc tg if it's in the list on lockout.

TGIDs defined explicitly in a scanlist take priority over Wildcard matches, so by using EZ Scan and defining the specific ID you can check the box for L/O (lockout) or Skip. Either will achieve the desired action, but be aware that skipped TGs can be unskipped from the scanner whereas locked out TGs cannot.

Assuming you are using a PSR800, to save a wildcard hit, press MENU and then SELect to save it as a new talkgroup. Then, when that talkgroup is active, press SKIP.
This creates a new object for the newly found talkgroup and allows you to lock it out without locking out the wildcard itself.
I don't quite understand but I will give it a try,I am trying to get rid of the encrypted talkgroups when they pop up,as I am recording new groups as they are heard.
