I see mentions of York Co. cells on the Palmetto 800 system, but I don't see the sites listed on the RR datsbase. What are the freqs & whare are they located? I'll be listining from the greater Gastonia area.
There are 61 cells listed in the RR data base. Click on Palmetto 800. Punch up the controllers for cell 17/18/46 and see of you can hear them. I would think there would be a cell around Rock Hill. Maybe someone else has that info.
I think 17 & 18 are too far west, unless they are veeeeeery high. I'll try cester but I doubt I'll get that. I've seen a mention of sites in York Co, but they are not on the RR database yet.
OK, After clicking on that it shows it's York Co. I'm not familar with all the small towns, so if it's not on the green coverage map it's hard to know.
Thanks for the Newport tip, I'm getting it pretty strong with a 5/8 wv 2mtr antenna (all I can use at work). So far I'm getting 21520 541 SCHP Ch 49 Cherokee/Union.
Often, you should be hearing Union, Cherokee AND York Counties' SCHP units on 21520.
The talkgroup is often in patched mode (21523) with the York Co talkgroup ... I presume you have your scanner set to receive the altered tg status bits.
Special Ops 4 (32336) and DPS 4 (30224) should also be very active with the Motorist Assistance units on I-85 (Cherokee Co) and I-77 (York and Chester Co) during the commuter drive times.
The "common" - or chit-chat - talkgroup for SCHP and other agencies in all three counties is channel 58 (29744).
What kind of scanner are you using? I have several P96 folders for a PRO96 and several P95 folders for a PRO95 that might help you. I monitor from Filbert, SC which is half way between York, SC and Clover, SC just off Rt 321.
Right now I'm testing the company's 246T But I'll also be trying my 2053. Thanks anyway
Jeff...............
Do you have any 246T files you've posted for the area? I'm setting up this scanner for work and anything that may look intresting will help show the capibilites.
I'll have to double check, but I'm sure I set it for open stasis bit. I have it in open search mode anyway, just to see what I could get. I'll try to get a dedicated 800 antenna to try.
