I have always wondered what is the best way to organize the 10 banks with 100 channels each in my scanner. I am sure that it is "personal thing", but can some of you give me some ideas how to organize the bands. Would by type like police, fire, ambulance etc be best. It would be nice to be able to lock out a whole bank instead of individual frequencies and then trying to unlock them later. Please give me lots of ideas to "ponder". Thanks--Gary

Hi,
I organize each service seperatly, such as Police, Fire, EMS, etc. It is easier to lock out a bank when monitoring or following something by each specific agency than to scroll through the bank to lock things out individually. At least for me, anyway. Then if you want to monitor the locked out bank just the push of a button will unlock it.

On most of my scanners, I organize banks by City, or County. This way, when something big goes down in a particular city, I can shutdown the other cities, and concentrate on that one. Keeping police, fire, rescue, etc, for that city, in one bank, assures me I've got it covered, without interuption from others.
