This system doesn't appear in Sentinel, even after updating. At least I can't find it.

Give it another try with the weekly update after Noon tomorrow. Now that there are talkgroups listed, Sentinel will upload that system for you. When talkgroups are absent from the database, Sentinel ignores the system. It should be good tomorrow.

There were Sentinel updates today but FleetConnect Tier 3 is still not there.

You are right. I just updated and wrote to scanner the 11/19/2023 database Sentinel update and checked Waterloo, Wellington and Dufferin counties. I did find the legacy FleetConnect under Statewide in those counties, but not the DT3

It would appear that Uniden isn't downloading DMR Tier III Capacity Max systems from the RR database. Everyone I've checked is missing.

These are the systems that the SDS200 will receive.
  • APCO P25 Phase I and II
  • Motorola, EDACS, and LTR Trunking
  • MotoTRBO Capacity + and Connect + **
  • DMR Tier III **
  • Hytera XPT **
  • Single-Channel DMR**
  • NXDN 4800 and 9600 **
  • EDACS ProVoice **

DMR Tier III Capacity Max systems aren't listed. I should have checked this before. I suppose they aren't downloading because it won't work on Uniden scanners.

Hopefully Uniden can modify their firmware if this is the case. Thoughts?

No, I think it is because of some other flaw, either in how RR presents it to Uniden or how Uniden deciphers what it gets from RR. CAPMAX will work/trunk/decode on SDS100/200s (and probably any scanner that will handle T3 trunked.

Good news and bad news situation. How can I program my SDS200 to receive the Wellington County Ontario DMR Tier III Capacity Max?

You can add a trunked system to your Favorites list, program it in with the proper trunking protocol, add the frequencies and their proper LCNs, and add the talkgroups (or a wildcard).

I just set up systems using Sentinel. What is the proper trunking protocol for the system I am looking at?

I don't remember the exact wording. Perhaps somebody else will tell you. It's likely just going to be something like DMR Trunking. I don't think there is any trunking type in the scanner specific to Tier III.

According to the BCD325P2 firmware page:

Version 1.08.00 Release 3/27/19

This update provides the following improvements and major features:
  • Improved the decoding for DMR RAS
  • Support Late Entry Opcode of DMR CapMax

Version 1.07.07 Release 7/17/2017

This update provides for the following improvements:
  • Speed up scanning of DMR systems
  • Support RAS detection in Tier 3 (including Capacity MAX) and DMR One Frequency systems

Well according to Uniden support today, you cannot monitor those systems with Uniden scanners. My firmware is up to date. If you go into Sentinel, the only DMR is One Frequency.

So where does that leave us? Can you receive the Wellington County Fire DMR Tier III Capacity Max system on a Uniden scanner?

I made my own Favourite Listing for this system. You will have to do this for yourself for your sites.
You must program a new system as MotoTRBO Trunk

Have a look at what I did for Brisbane. I made a Department titled Fire Department. This is how I discovered talkgroups 14001, 9001 and 9003 by having it in ID Search mode.

TG 9001 I heard "Erin garage to Central" I am thinking maybe that TG is Roads - Central Dispatch.
I have set up this system on my SDS200. I am located on the east side of Waterloo. The
signal strength on Fergus is two bars and one bar for Puslinch. I am just using the back
of the set antenna but I would expect to pick up some sites but I get zip. I set all color codes to 6.
Any suggestions guys?

Did you try Wilmot Site 3?

Yes. No bars at all. Just now I picked up TG 24085. Two guys talking about their personal vehicles.
This was using Discovery on the Fergus site. The signal was loud and clear. CON + Slot 2.

During Discovery there was activity on the Fergus Site for TGs 24005, 24085, 24110 and 49800.
Looks like these users have the same TG ids as on the old system.

When I scan the system though, I receive nothing at all which I don't understand since Discovery just uses the system setup as it is.

CON shows that you are monitoring the old FleetConnect system and the old talkgroups and not the new system you are trying to program and listen to.

Hi mciupa:

I thought that I set it up per instructions.
Here is my setup. I used the frequencies for the new system and the LCN program to calculate the LCNs.
Must have messed up somehow.

Thanks

Your Fergus site looks perfect. If you go back a step, is Wellington County Rural Fire Service programmed as a MotoTRBO trunked system?
I can't see any reason why it wouldn't trunktrack properly.
