Is there anyway to record radio IDs on a non trunked system? Other then to run dsd and note what id is used by a car. I was thinking in the way unitrunker records every radio. May be a cool feature for the next version of dsd.

It's already done with DSD, and DSD Plus.

Here are a couple samples to show what it looks like:

1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:01,000
2014/01/08 09:06:52
+P25p1 NAC=196 TG=FFFF/65535 RID=1400003

2
00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:02,000
2014/01/08 09:06:54
+P25p1 NAC=196 TG=1/1 RID=608

3
00:01:35,000 --> 00:01:36,000
2014/01/15 12:45:15
+P25p1 NAC=181 TG=1/1 RID=909

4
00:01:36,000 --> 00:01:37,000

Does DSD store them or just display the id while the call is active?

DSDPlus stores that info in a subtitle file. DSDPlus.srt is the default name If you play back the audio with VLC player you can add the .srt file also and it will be displayed.
