How to remove the SCREECH

Listening to a Moto analog 800MHZ system, there is a terrible loud screech at the beginning of every transmission. This is the GMU PD in N.VA.
Is there a setting (PSR600 & WS1065) that will remove this.
It is extremely annoying.

If you are talking the non-trunked 855.71250 & 855.48750, then that is more than likely MDC data bursts that you are hearing. They only way to mute that is to use a Motorola radio and set DOS muting to get rid of the annoying sound.

DOS: data operated squelch. Altho the DOS may not mute all of the MDC data burst, screech sound.

So this data opens there squelch and the Moto radios likely don't here it?
I guess that makes sense and I'll have to live with it.

No way to suppress it on a scanner.

Mdc tone your hearing in long form is a Id format. They use pre ptt id. Like said a motorola radio or radio with mdc dos muting can mute the long tone into a chirp and in pre mdc sometimes some transmissions miss the chirp as if no mdc was there. No way around it on a scanner unless someone made a modern scanner with mdc muting which I doubt will happen if it hasnt.
