Hi all,

Are we supposed to use the traditional text Submit form to provide location and range data to the new database? If so, in what format should we submit location data (e.g., "Subcategory_ID, Lat, Long, Range")?

Questions:
  • For Lat & Long, does RR prefer decimal or DMS format?
  • What are acceptable range values? (e.g., 1,2,5,10,20,50, or any number)
  • What are acceptable range units? (e.g., miles, kilometers)
  • Should range describe maximum reception area or maximum application area?

Thank you!

Dave

You can submit them using the current submission process. Lat/Lon in decimal format would be best and any range can be submitted, in miles please; don't try to be too exact, the idea is to show approximate coverage.

That said, we have a little bug in that sub-system right now so be patient, most people are holding until that can be worked out. Strange, it worked fine in the Beta and the move to production killed it.

Lou is right, let me clarify further.

1. The bug has been fixed with our range displays
2. We would strongly recommend that you submit decimal format for your lat/long coord
3. Range values are wide open - any value is fine - however it should be in miles
4. Range should represent application area

I'll release some tools to help everyone better submit data shortly (the admins have some great tools right now)
