BC125AT: How to tell if a scanner is new and how new a scanner is, when buying.

Hello All,

I'm looking at getting a BC125AT, there are a few on eBay and Amazon I'm looking at that say are brand new. What can I look at or ask the seller to make sure it's brand new and how new? Also how do you find out what version of software it's running being brand new? Hope this makes sense, thanks!

It should come in an unopened box with all the accessories packed in their plastic bags. Use a reputable seller and check their feedback.

Physically check the scanner when it arrives for wear, scratches, previous programming, missing accessories, etc.

You can look in the scanner's menu for the current firmware or it is displayed when you power up and look on the Uniden site for any firmware updates.

In my book "brand new" is the ONLY new there is.

If it is an unopened box you should be fine. Check the firmware version when you get it also.
