How to Use RR Web Service

I'm Frustrated. I've contributed $$$ to RadioReference and I can't seem to find any instructions for how to use RR Web Service to go from the RR Database to a file. I've download RRDB Reader and it, too, has no instructions. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.

Which Web Service program are you asking about...Win96 Web Import or Butel CSV Import?

Win96 Web Import has a Link under the File pulldown and needs to be started with your RR name and password. All info for collecting data is within pages which open. Of course, you'll need to be familiar with the data you intend to import. Import is normally done in a New Template in Win96 but can be into an existing file but will overwrite any data in the selected bank.

Butel Connects also with your RR users name and password. The selected data downloads to your hard drive. You then open the CSV file and use copy/paste.

I'm unfamiliar with RRDB Reader, can you provide details?

RRDB Reader is a utility I (not Uniden, but the personal I) wrote for myself then donated for anyone else who wants to use it. You must have the .NET Framework installed for the program to work. It will create UASD files with the data you select to export. Only supports Motorola systems.

The 1.1 framework, Paul. That's one of the things I don't like about .NOT - I have to have the 2.0 framework installed, so I can't use the program. (Yep - ".not ready for prime-time" doesn't worry about downward compatibility.)

Is there a reason you can't also install 1.1? Side-by-side installations of 1.1 and 2.0 are possible. An app targeted for 1.1 should use that version if it's installed on the machine, even in the presence of 2.0.

"Should", Don. Doesn't. Paul's program, for one. It appears to access the web page, then returns a blank Country listbox. Same install, running from another computer on the network, with 1.1 installed, works.

I've been through this many times, since I've been developing in .net since it came out. I need 2 computers to be able to develop in (or run the eventual product in) both versions, and there are some products I just don't get to rewrite unless I want to donate my time.
