I'm trying to amplify the sound coming out of my scanner, whats a good cheap, do it yourself way to get good, amplified sound out of my scanner? I see RadioShack selling an amplified speaker for around $30, is this the only alternative?

Run it to your stereo input.

Are you trying to amplify a handheld or base model?? If its a hand held you may be able to amplify it a couple of different ways coming from the headphone jack.........Hoser
