Anyone know what this channel's frequency is?
I heard a car ask AIR 30 to go to Oscar 6 because it was simplex.

According to the handy chart on the Howard Co database page, Oscar 6 is listed as RINS1. This is listed as 868.5125Mhz.

Also, I have specifically been scanning the RINS and NPSPAC freqs for weeks and haven't heard too much. But you might want to add these into your scanner... http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&aid=1632

Thanks for the tip! :D

This also gives me something to do next time I am at the station, apperently they could not get the simplex channel to work in direct mode. The mobiles apperently do not have a "known" way to get them into direct mode, but the portables do.... they wound up having the dispatcher relay by phone to the helocopter's radio. I was supprised, Air 30 was down by Patomic Mills mall when they had to turn around, even thought they were up in the air, that distance for coverage was pretty good.. the portable on the ground lost contact on the GW Parkway just outside Howard County.

Thought I'd add a bit to the story...

I'm curious. Potomac Mills is in Virginia so why would the helo be near there? A few years ago Howard Co. had an agreement with A.A. Co. to share their helo. Does Howard County still have an agreement with A.A. Co. for the use of their helo? I'm thinking that they were requesting the U.S. park Police helo if it was near there but they use to use the callsign "Eagle" instead of Air 10, Air 20, Air 30, etc.

I am almost sure that it was Patomic Mills... I admit I am not all that good on VA's roads, but I when I heard this, I think it was about 35 or so minutes after they went over the BW parkway @ I-95. I could be wrong though, I was not paying all that much attention. I think it all started around 8 ish last night, and I think it lasted till about 10ish.... The helo started to run with 2 hours of fuel, and they eventually cut it off cause they were running low... next time I see the guys that were chasing this person, I'll ask where it ended.

Mark is right

This started at 95 and 32. It wasn't a chase but a survielance assist.

Bear105, how did you get that frequency? I don't know how to coorelate that chart to frequencies?

On the Howard Co police chart(http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=1707), if you look at Oscar-6, it says RNS1. This is part of the Regional INterService(RINS) that just started up lately. You can find some threads about it and NPSPAC in the Maryland Forums. RNS1 is as the freq provided.

Also, note the 8TAC(or I-TAC) channels are refereing to the NPSPAC, Public Safety Interoperability channels.
