I've noticed PD is not transmitting, using 3 different radios. Did something happen?
I hear the salt trucks and FD.

Just heard someone talking about moving a "technology trailer" though. I wonder if PD is using silent dispatching (MDT) until the radio issues gets fixed

Man I thought they had changed control channels after getting a notification. Hopefully they are just having issues and aren't going to encryption in wake of the mall shooting.

I personally don't think it is encryption, as I have heard some traffic on PD, but not all. I have been hearing one side of the conversation a couple of times, like the PD unit calling dispatch, but not the dispatcher's answer. Seems a weird way to do ENC if that is what it is

They changed talkgroups for Northern and Southern PD dispatch.
43248 is Northern
43312 is Southern

I realized this when I switched the bank on my PRO-96 from closed to open.
I don't know how permanent this is but they switched around 1230 last night.

Running Unitrunker from home and 43248 is showing up as a Digital patch.

Edit: Second Screenshot to show patch....

Edit x2: Might be worth checking the radio archives during that timeframe to see if there was any mention on the radio.

Now that we know the "how"...I'm curious as to the "why", and the "for how long".

Thanks for the research photoguy.

Yes, I saw that thread. Almost 24 hours now seems like a long time to have a patch nailed up.
We'll have to see what happens.

Thanks

Hopefully someone can unitracker or similar programs to scan for new talkgroups. I wish I had a 2nd radio to do that without having to disrupt the live feed.

I caught the other half of traffic on the two talkgroups baybum posted. There seems to be no correlation as to who uses the old and new talkgroups. I hear the same dispatcher on both of them.

So what do you think this is? A phased roll out of the new talk groups? (i.e. dispatch simulcasts, officers should use the new one, but can still use old if they want, until a point, then depreciate the old)

My PSR-800 normally shows northern district (47120) on a patch but today it's not saying so. I can hear dispatch and units just fine. The southern district (47152) is saying it's on a patch which is new. Everything sounds normal on that channel too

No Southern District on the feed so far today. I will see what happens when the shift's change to see if this is shift/dispatcher dependent on the patches etc.

I wish I could get better reception to listen to it from here but it appears the patch is still up according to Unitrunker
