If anyone is looking for a simple tough and discrete carry case for the HP-1 take a look at the Maxpedition FR-1 first aid case. I like the setup alot especially the high-speed low-drag doesn't advertise aspect. you do have to remove the antenna for travel but since the FR-1 is a clamshell case you can use the radio right in the pouch. plenty of room for spare batteries-usb cable- ear phone cable and extras. its possible to attach the antenna and zip it closed enough to protect the radio and keep the antenna/speaker wire out sticking out.
great for bugout/emergency/vehicle use, not waterproof but will stop almost everything short of drowning it or using a hammer
