HP 1-no sound

HP1 has no sound at all. No screen tap sound. No weather sound.

When I connect an external speaker there is some sound "but very little sound", almost none.

Any suggestions?

I'd try to isolate the problem. Try to record the audio on the SD card. Remove the card and play in computer. Does it sound ok? If so, then receiver is working well.

I'd try wiggling the audio jack (gently) with a plug in it. Maybe there is an intermittent or poor contact in the audio shut off "mechanics" of the jack?

Rather than connecting an external speaker to the radio, use a set of stereo headphones.

Many of the current Uniden radios have stereo headphone jacks and a mono plug will reduce the audio output.

If there is proper audio with a set of stereo headphones/earbuds either the speaker in the unit is bad or maybe the headphone jack is not switching the speaker back on properly?
